Support
One person reads this inbox
Email kyle@conceptadventure.com. Wildheart is built by one person, and that person answers the mail. I read everything and usually reply within a day or two.
If something is broken, the fastest path to a fix is an email with your device model, your iOS version, and what you were doing when it went wrong. A screenshot helps more than any description. If you can tell me the name of the trail, I can usually reproduce it.
Missing a trail you know exists? Send it. Got a trail whose data is wrong? Send that too. Both go straight onto the list.
Common questions
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so cancelling happens in iOS Settings rather than inside Wildheart:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Wildheart, then Cancel Subscription.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date, or Apple will have already charged for the next period. You keep everything you paid for until the period you already bought runs out. Nothing is deleted when a subscription ends; your routes, trips, and drawn trails stay exactly where they are.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
I paid but Wildheart says I have not. How do I restore?
This usually means the app is signed in to a different account than the one that made the purchase, or it was reinstalled on a new phone.
Start with the Apple Account. Open the Settings app, tap your name, and check you are signed in to the same Apple Account you bought Wildheart with. Purchases live with the Apple Account, not with your Wildheart sign-in. Then reinstall Wildheart and sign in the way you did before: that brings back your account and everything saved to it, including your trips, routes, and drawn trails.
Restoring the purchase itself from inside the app arrives with the subscription update that is in build now. Until that update reaches you, email me with the Apple Account address you bought under and I will put it right by hand, usually the same day.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, no email needed:
- Open your profile, then Settings.
- Tap Manage account.
- Tap Delete account.
- Type delete to confirm, then tap Delete account.
You are signed out right away and everything is scheduled for permanent deletion. Full erasure completes after 30 days and cannot be undone from the app. The detail of what goes and when is in the Privacy Policy.
Deleting your Wildheart account does not cancel a subscription, because Apple holds the subscription, not us. Cancel it separately using the steps above.
Why does Wildheart want my location, and how do I change it?
While you are using the app, location centers the map on you, works out how far the trailhead is, and pulls the weather where you are actually going. While you are hiking, it draws your track and tells you if you have wandered off the route, which is the whole point of the on-trail part.
Background access exists so recording keeps working with the screen locked and in your pocket. It runs only during an active hike. It is not on while you browse.
To change it: open the Settings app, scroll to Wildheart, tap Location, and pick the level you want. The map and planning work at While Using the App. Tracking a hike with the screen off needs Always. At Never, you can still search, browse, and read trail detail; you just have to tell the app where you are.
